Independent Certifier Job Description


Position Description: The GY-Framework Independent Certifiers will be responsible for reviewing pilot project compliance with the credit requirements and awarding certification status, where achieved.  Pilot projects will be grouped into three categories (3-5 projects per category), with one certifier per category: Resort/Mixed Use, Subdivision, and Parks/Schools. Certifiers will belong to and work in conjunction with the GY-Framework Certification Task Force through December 2010.  GY-Framework certifiers must have no financial connection with pilot projects in their assigned category.  

Duties:  
  • Attend meetings of the Certification Task Force and recruit one or two volunteer task force members to assist you in certifying each assigned pilot project
  • Attend the initial training session for pilot personnel on April 1-2, 2008 in Bozeman, Montana.  Meet with assigned pilot representatives to gain project background
  • Review and answer questions submitted by pilot projects; research answers and consult members of the original design team for each relevant credit category
  • Communicate questions and research with the other two certifiers
  • Provide questions and research results to YBP webmaster for posting on YBP website
  • Award or deny credits based on credit compliance as indicated by the GY-Framework credit intent and documentation requirements
  • Issue final certification to successful pilot projects in assigned category
Each successful pilot project will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Executive Director and Board Chair of YBP and a GY-Framework plaque for display at the pilot project building or site.

Qualifications: LEED-AP; experience with achieving certification on LEED projects with which you have been associated

Compensation: Reimbursement for all travel expenses; negotiated stipend for fulfillment of given tasks
