Greater Yellowstone Framework for Sustainable Development

Certification Task Force Member Job Description

Position Description: The GY-Framework Certification Task Force will help design and implement the pilot certification process for the Greater Yellowstone Framework for Sustainable Development.  Task force meetings will be held quarterly either in person or by teleconference.

Duties:

·         Serve as reviewers of the GY-Framework Technical Reference Guide

·         Contribute to Credit Interpretation Reviews (CIRs) for pilot projects.  Conduct research and consult willing members of the original design team for questions of intent or applicability in credit categories (subject experts may also be consulted as a resource for interpretation)

·         Suggest resources for the website that may be helpful to pilots

·         Assist with review/evaluation (REV) of each pilot project; give pilot projects feedback on credits they can expect to achieve and those which are not meeting the credit requirements

·         Provide input on submittal templates and all materials for eventual certification

·         Help create a third-party certification process for the GY-Framework that maximizes regional involvement and minimizes cost

·         Help design a unique and sustainable certification plaque for successful pilot projects

·         Contribute to the GY-Framework revisions, shaping the Registration process for subsequent applicants and discussing GY-Framework professional accreditation

Certification process requirements: A third-party, independent certifier will be assigned to each pilot category: Resort/Mixed Use, Subdivision and Parks/Schools.   The certifier will be tasked with awarding or denying credits based on credit compliance as indicated by the GY-Framework credit intent and documentation requirements.  Certification will include two levels; pilots can choose to certify completed construction documents or completed built project.  Final certification will be issued by the GY-Framework certifier in that category.  Please see Independent Certifier job description for specific duties.

Each successful pilot project will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Executive Director and Board Chair of YBP and a GY-Framework plaque for display at the pilot project building or site.

To Participate: Please contact Heather Burdette, Sustainability Programs Manager, at (406) 838-2321 or hburdette@yellowstonebusiness.org no later than March 20.  Commitment expires December, 2010.
