Kath Williams - Sustainable
Building Stories from the Yellowstone-Teton Region - The
Bozeman Public

Dr. Kath Williams, President of
the World Green Building Council, is a frequently invited author and
international speaker on sustainability issues. Kath served for seven
years as vice chair of the U.S. Green Building Council during its
development of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)
rating system. She is a LEED Faculty member and served as a LEED
Accredited Professional on seven projects including two LEED-Platinum
projects, the LEED Platinum Green Business Centre, Hyderabad, India and
ITC Headquarters, Guragon. She continues to serve on the USGBC
Board’s International Committee, USGBC delegate to World GBC,
and as chair of LEED for Labs committee.
Dr. Williams was Assistant to the Vice President of Research at Montana
State University from 1996 to 1999, and held faculty positions at
Montana State University, Stanford, San Francisco State, and University
of Dayton, where she was tenured. She holds a bachelor’s
degree in journalism (BSJ ’73) from Ohio University, was a
Kiplinger Fellow while she earned a masters in public affairs reporting
(MA ’74) from The Ohio State University, and she holds a
doctorate in education (Ed.D ’98) from Montana State
University. She holds an adjunct faculty position at MSU’s
School of Architecture.
