(Population 67,831)
Gallatin County serves the populations of Bozeman, Belgrade, Three Forks, Big Sky and West Yellowstone as it copes with rapid subdivision of ranchlands across the unincorporated landscape. Twenty businesses and town leaders from West Yellowstone attended a YBP presentation last October, resulting in seven new members from this tourist-dependent community. Over 20 business members have been added from Bozeman following a reception held at the Museum of the Rockies last December. Many public land issues face Gallatin County as wildlife corridors are being threatened by development and recreational use conflicts have gained national attention. Growth, downtown vitality and quality of life issues are expected to dominate member discussions, which will occur at bi-monthly gatherings beginning in January.
