Dale Marsico - Executive Director of the Community Transportation Association of America

Gary DanczykDale J. Marsico became Executive Director of the Community Transportation Association of America in November of 1996. During his time with the Association he has worked to broaden support for community and public transportation by reaching out to those who already understand the need for a strong national commitment to mobility and those who need a new understanding and appreciation of the potential transit provides for all Americans. Nowhere is this connection better understood than in the pages of the Association's award winning publications RAIL and Community Transportation magazines, where Dale views his role as publisher as an opportunity to further both goals.

In recent years the Association's legislative efforts can be seen in the improvement for community transportation in several important areas like SAFETEA-LU, the Deficit Reduction Act, and in proposed reforms to our health and human services programs. During his time at the Association Dale has also expanded the services offered by the organization and was the driving force behind the creation of the Community Transportation Development Fund, a certified development organization financing and investing in community and public transportation organizations.

Prior to coming to the Community Transportation Association, Dale worked in Texas and helped found the Brazos Transit System, where he played an early and active role in several innovative programs like the development of Town Center in the Woodlands. Additionally he worked on the establishment of innovative partnerships to extend health care and transportation in rural communities.
