Connecting the DOTs – Designing a Regional System of Transit Alternatives

David KackDavid Kack 

is the Program Manager for the Mobility and Public Transportation research area at the Western Transportation Institute (WTI) - Montana State University.  David holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and specializes in transportation coordination, management, and planning.  At WTI, he has worked on several projects to develop and improve rural passenger transportation systems.  He served on the team that developed the Montana Coordinated Transportation Handbook, and served as the Principle Investigator for the Real Choices Systems Change Grant project, which focused on improving public and specialized transportation in two communities in Montana. 

Mr. Kack is currently serving as the Chairman of the GALAVAN/Streamline Advisory Board which provides general public and paratransit transportation services in the greater Bozeman area.  David is also the Coordinator for the Skyline public transportation system in Big Sky, which includes both local and intercity service between Big Sky and Bozeman (a distance of approximately 55 miles).  David is a member of the TRB Rural Public and Intercity Bus Committee, and has extensive experience working with the public and cultivating multi-agency institutional relationships for the purpose of transportation development.
