Connecting the DOTs – Designing a Regional System of Transit Alternatives

Lisa BallardLisa Ballard, P.E.     

helps people get where they need to go. Throughout her 13-year transportation career, she has had the opportunity to work with community members and transportation operators to understand their needs and find ways to offer better, more efficient, and more effective service. Today, based out of Bozeman, Montana, she focuses on public transportation for rural and small urban areas.

In 2004 Lisa established Current Transportation Solutions.  She recently has worked on separate efforts regarding transportation issues facing the Fort Peck Reservation, Glacier National Park, and Modoc County, California. She has been instrumental in establishing the new Streamline public transportation service in Bozeman and currently serves as the Coordinator.

Lisa has degrees in civil engineering from University of California, Irvine (M.S.) and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (B.S.). Prior to establishing her own company, Ms. Ballard worked at the Western Transportation Institute at Montana State University and at National Engineering Technology Corporation in California.  She is a member of Toastmasters and the Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training.
