Ron Tussing was a 36 year law enforcement professional before being
sworn in as mayor of Billings in January 2006. He served as
SWAT team leader, detective, Sheriff of Lancaster County Nebraska,
Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol and Chief of Police in
Billings. During his tenure as mayor, Ron has emphasized open
communication and citizen involvement in order to maintain trust with
the community. He created two new commissions; the
Mayor’s Committee on Homelessness and the Energy and
Conservation Commission both of which have been very
productive. Ron and his wife Darlene have four daughters and
eight grandchildren. Besides spending time with them, he
enjoys participating in athletic events and many outdoor activities in
Big Sky Country.
