Tom
Olliff is the
Chief of Science and Resource Management for Yellowstone National Park,
where he leads many of the most high-profile and controversial resource
programs in the National Park Service, including bison management;
grizzly bear conservation; wolf reintroduction and recovery; elk
management on Yellowstone’s northern range; predicting
hazards
from the Yellowstone volcano; protecting Yellowstone’s
geothermal
features; and conserving the Yellowstone cutthroat trout. He earned a
B.S. in Forest Management from Auburn University and a M.S. in Resource
Conservation from the University of Montana. His publications
include manuscripts on the impacts of recreationists to wildland
ecosystems, control of invasive species, and the ecology of native
rare, threatened and endangered species. He was recently
chosen
to serve on the National Park Service Climate Change Steering Committee. |
