Laura
Ladd serves as an Energy and Economics Advisor to Wyoming Governor Dave
Freudenthal. In this role, she is responsible for developing
energy positions based on
an assessment of the regulatory, private and public finance markets and
the competitive and political landscape for specific energy
initiatives. These analyses focus on economic drivers and
cost implications for transitioning to a lower carbon energy
environment on local, state and national levels.
Laura also serves in an advisory capacity to
Wyoming’s Carbon Sequestration Working Group. This
group was created by the Wyoming Legislature to recommend acceptable
financial assurance mechanisms pertaining to long-term geologic
sequestration of carbon dioxide in the state of Wyoming. The
Working Group plans to release its initial recommendations in June,
2009. In March, 2009 she was appointed and confirmed to the
Wyoming State Retirement Board.
Laura has nearly 15 years of experience in finance, strategic planning,
marketing and project management. She received a
Bachelor of Administration cum laude from Pepperdine University and a
Masters of Business from the Wharton School at the University of
Pennsylvania.
